I actually have my B.A. in Theater with a performance concentrate. That’s how I met Amy. When I first moved back to Denver after college, Amy was the stage manager for my second show in the Denver – ‘Wait Until Dark’. That show also happened to be my last theater performance before leaving to focus on photography full time. So, years later when Amy reached out to me about photographing her wedding, I was ecstatic! Looking for outdoors but close to Denver, we decided to have their engagement session at the Greenbelt in Lakewood, CO.
The evening was perfect – warm, puffy expressive clouds, and a deep blue sky. Also, bugs. Lots and lots of bugs! I’ve learned to carry bug spray for summer engagement sessions. While I want you to remember the great time you had during your engagement shoot, I don’t mosquito bites are a good momento! Every time I bring someone new to the greenbelt they say “Wow! I had no idea this was here!”. It really is a gem within the city limits. With Bear Creek running through the middle and an open view of the foothills, it’s a great option for those who don’t want to travel too far for photos.
As we explored all the best the greenbelt has to offer, the sky graced us with the most beautiful pink and blue sunset. It was the perfect way to end Amy and Bart’s engagement session at the greenbelt! Look for a later blog post from their Fall wedding in Boulder. Until then, enjoy some of my favorites from their session.
With love,
Soleil
