A lot of couples like to come to Colorado to elope, but Floridians, Amanda and Cameron, already said “I Do”. So, they decided to get dressed back up in their wedding attire for some springtime wedding photos in Colorado! I personally love every season in Colorado, but springtime has a special feeling and “smell”. As the days and nights get warmer, you get the smell of the earth heating up, the trees budding, the flowers blooming, and the grasses turning green. This scent is even stronger in the mountains! The Ponderosa pine trees let off a butterscotch or vanilla smell, making the mountains even that much sweeter 😉 It’s something I look forward to every year!
You’ve probably heard this term before, but simply put it means the hour before sunset when the sun turns everything it touches gold! Since they were only in town for a few days, we decided to keep it close to Denver and drove up to Mount Falcon. With amazing views of the continental divide, Red Rocks and the cascading foothills, Mount Falcon is a gem within the city!
I met Amanda and Cameron about an hour and a half before sunset and we hiked into the park. We started our session amongst the butterscotch trees and budding grasses. The golden hour light quickly made it’s appearance as we explored. Amanda and Cameron climbed the rock overlook in their formal wear and we caught the sun beaming it’s rays over the landscape. As the sun dropped behind the hills, we took advantage of the afterglow and captured soft but brilliant colors as we left the park.
The day so so perfect for springtime wedding photos in Colorado! I had so much fun with these two during our time together 🙂 I hope they come back to Colorado every year so we can continue to explore, have fun and take photos!
Enjoy some of my favorite captures from their session and then get out and enjoy springtime in Colorado!
With love,
Soleil
