I love small, intimate weddings. They can be held almost anywhere and almost anytime. For Sara and Andrew, the place was the Clocktower in Denver (http://clocktowerevents.com/) and the time was on a hot Tuesday in July. I met Sara at the Clocktower. Her mother helped her put on her wedding gown in a quiet room overlooking the city. All dressed up, Sara did have somewhere to go! We walked 16th street mall to Union Station where her groom to be was waiting. I took Sara to a low foot traffic area and got her ready for her first look with Andrew. I found Andrew inside Union Station, anxiously awaiting my arrival. He took a deep breath, and we walked toward his soon to be bride. The photos from their first look say it all!
After getting the first look jitters out of the way, we went to some of my favorite downtown spots for photos. We all got sweaty in the hot July sun, so we took the 16th mall ride back to the Clocktower. When we arrived, the family was ready to see Sara and Andrew say “I Do”! In front of the beautiful clock face, Sara and Andrew read personal vows, bound their hands with beautiful lace, and became husband and wife. Being such a small gathering, the couple had their moms sign as witnesses on the marriage license.
We took some beautiful family portraits in front of the clock. Then, we wrapped up the day with a few more couple photos on the (very tiny) balcony. I only spent 3.5 hours with Sara and Andrew on their wedding day, but by the time I left I felt like one of the family. I truly cherish small intimate wedding days. It always takes me back to why I fell in love with wedding photography in the first place.
Enjoy some of my favorite captures from Sara and Andrew’s wedding at the Clocktower in Denver!
With love,
Soleil
